Haven't seen it, no. Thanks. I had to stop watching after a few minutes though and just listen. I hate those poser hippy types you see in the audience.
Dickheads the lot of them. Much like the scenesters of today, apparently it's very cool to be smoking brown in Hoxton town at the moment. Which means that any Glaswegian visiting London over the coming months will be right on the pulse. Even if it is fast, and weak one.
LOL, I'll have to remember that fast and weak line.
Heroin is an artists drug though, always has been. It's just that the average Glasgow artists preferred medium seems to be open razor on flesh.

I'm all for people doing what they want, but to do something like drugs just to be seen to be cool or fit into the 'scene' is a shocker in my view. Anyway, you sent me off on a GD youtube session. Cheers for that.

Any Dead Heads about? I think, I may be taking the counter cultural thing too far for some... no harm intended.

All from the same album. My favourite GD album I think. The harmonies could put the Beach Boys in their place and the jams are as tight Creedence's for sure. Tighter than the Funk Brothers in Motown mode maybe? Nah, that's silly... but not far off.
Great shit, Liam. Not a Dead head but this IS a great album. I would have missed it if Simon hadn't shot me a PM telling me Liam's laying down some "groovy " tracks on GATIS. I'll PM Hard Bop Hank and Hepcat and turn them on to it.
Are you sure you're not a 60 year old American former FM disc jockey.
Absolutely sure. Just the son of an almost 60 year old guy who would have made a great one.
On a related note, RIP Levon Helm http://youtu.be/3LAcP_v-j3I

Liam, did you ever notice how much "Teach your Children" sounds like "Dire Wolf"? I wish I would have done that segue in 1975, shit. http://youtu.be/M_hYdywoV_Q

I never thought about it George but I can surely see where you're coming from. I wonder if the more musically literate folks might comment more on why that is? Not the same chords surely? That's about as far as I go musically....Oo Bop care to comment?
Near enough same thing played in a different key. Although I'd get Harpo's opinion too.

Can't agree with that Liam.

OK, you're absolutely right George. I guess I got carried away. That was astounding! Thanks for posting.
I guess the fact the Beach Boys were family and had BW putting those melodies together is that extra piece of magic. Brilliant stuff.
Always reminds me of the theme from Jim'll Fix It.
Fucking ell' I'm gonna slash my wrists in a minute. Its like being at some 60s hippie fucking love in.
2009-Elder William Smith. Ltd issue of 200. Bagged mine for $18 when it was released, inclu. post. Everyones chasing it on the mod and funk scenes now and its not even been comped yet.

At midnight, last Saturday down at the coast music festival, Nicky Bomba had his , intermittently put together, Melbourne Ska Orchestra. 25 pieces and just superb. a horn section of thousands.
Jamming and extended versions plus Nicky is a superb musician and showman and friendly. Did all the great hits and early ones. Rudy, a message to you, Monkey Man, My Boy Lollipop, with knockout female singer, Nighboat to Cairo, and so on for hours, about 2,000 in audience, then finished but still playing filed out into the street for another half hour, then othe shuttle bus around the block, still Riffin.
Never heard so much jazz in ska before.
Best fun I've had for ages.

....If you want to post 'Gimme Vagina' we will have to move this thread over to the NSFW thread.
I'm digging this though. Don't know Yellowman at all. Thanks for posting.
