In all honesty the names are endless -

For me, The Crimson Shop was my 'one that got away' - I left the place with two Sero made buttondowns (A Madras & a Poplin Tatterall) and a week's worth of watchstraps.

In the window was a slouchy, Sandy, Sack jacket which has haunted me to this day....     Made by?


My chance was there, but I rushed off to lunch.  The shop had closed forever when I next tried to check it out.

I found this today, not my size, but when I search for the obvious, something like this always crops up. Same for a lot of obscure US outdoors companies.



So this morning I found this John Alexander Brown jacket, and after a quick search this is what I found.

I stumbled onto "The Department Store Museum" when I was doing research for something I was writing up for my Etsy shop.  That is a really interesting site.  If you have the time and inclination, you should check out the blurb on RH Stearns from Boston.  It was surprising because I used to walk past that building every day and had no idea it was an 11 or 12 story department store dating from 1849 (even though that particular building had only been around since 1909 or so).
