I don't get this, is Peter V.L. on ourside or Chinny-Chenners?

He has multiple identities/personalities here too.

I'd say Peter knows that already, George.

^It will be interesting how this develops, is Peter V.L. after a scoop, or is he an agent of the dark forces sent to cause mischief. Either way, if he's buying the next round, it might be a good idea to hang around and see.

Re: The real Russell Street. Rejected by Christian Chensvold

Having previously told him to F. off & given my opinion that Mr. Chensvold sucks it is with great interest that I shall approach tomorow's 'drinks date' (whatever happened to lunch? Have I been demoted?)...

All I know is that I met a nice young man on the internet who wanted to talk about clothes over a nice quiet lunch. I then returned home to find myself The Mekon and in the middle of a love triangle with my lunch companion and Mr. Chensvold. The temptation is to ask Christian what's going up & for the two of us to gang up on young Pete !  (At this point I'm going to pretend that I'm joking...)

By Friday night all will become clear, no doubt.

Just another story from the naked city...

Re: The real Russell Street. Rejected by Christian Chensvold

As a journalist I am entirely objective. I am a camera. I have a dialogue with James and also with Christian. My intention is to publish the story of the making of the story and then to publish the story, the Q & A with James.

James, I look forward to our meet tomorrow. As you didn't eat luch when we last met I thought that drinks would suit you better. My change of plan was to try to suit you.
Please do not be intimidated by the fact that I am in touch with Christian. Telling me to fuck off is water off a duck's back I promise you. It was mild when placed in comparison to Christian's reaction.

For once I am innocent !

I have no idea what I'm mixed up in here.  Wish it was more interesting though...

Now if this was my scam I'd have lots of talk about how handsome I am and how I arrived for lunch on a huge White Arabian Stallion...

No such thing as a free lunch is there ?

Re: The real Russell Street. Rejected by Christian Chensvold

"When I first met Jimmy Frost Mellor I came almost instantly. Such was the power of his lapped seams and collar roll. A waiter brought me a spare napkin to mop up with and I then gave my full attention to his sacred words... All was fully explained to me and I left Bristol that day a changed man. I had met God and he had given me advice on shirts..."

This grows stale.

Re: The real Russell Street. Rejected by Christian Chensvold

Actually... I suspect I'm going to enjoy this evening's drinks with Peter very much - He describes Mr. Christian Chensvold's responses to his questions as 'Shrill, hysterical, paranoid and deeply unprofessional', pointing out that Christian has no formal training or qualifications as a journalist.  Most unkind to the art of the 'professional blogger'....

Apparantly Christian was livid that the story was about me & not him, with him only being involved as a minor add-on to the 'Russell Street' saga !

Ya couldn't make it up !

Re: The real Russell Street. Rejected by Christian Chensvold

To be fair to Christian, I think his own perception of himself is that he is a media svengali figure, controlling and dominating various subjects in the unreality of the internet. His trite, stale wooden prose and meagre paragraphs (and they are only mere paragraphs) come across as if they've been extracted by flailing himself with a barbed wire whip reinforced with a mafia imposed gun to his head deadline.

In short, he is not a journalist nor is he a writer. He is an opportunist blogger, a forty-plus year work shy virgin reinventing himself in New York, whilst other men have already toiled for twenty years or more carving careers for themselves in various disciplines, some of them not of their choosing, but life's like that, cruel and unkind, but always with dignity. As such, he is to be both loathed and admired, but not quite in equal portions.

It doesn't exist. It's panto. The joke is that he thinks it's real.

I'm sure that you don't think it's real?

I have to disagree there Steve, all but 4 of those questions were sent 18 months ago, maybe a bit longer. A long time before I joined this forum, I didn't know Jim at all but was interested in his postings on a site called Mod Culture. I thought he was an active writer on Ivy Style.com as  I knew he had something to do with the site in the beginning. (Due to a cross over interest between mod and Ivy style) I'd never heard of Chenners at the time of sending Jim the questions, let alone any sort of feud between them. I really wasn't sure of the term trad Ivy or the difference between preppy and Ivy either. Those were all genuine questions. Of course since joining Talk Ivy I've become aware that Prep and Ivy are different fish, and Chenners has shocking taste in home decor and is a bit of a cock.

Have a good one tonight Jim, but be weary of the man in the Monty with a camera...
