"Wash as silk"

the legend says on my TOOTAL scarves. Now I know this is deviant mod-ivy but I ask your assistance nonetheless. I'm buggered if I'm getting my Tootals all messed up at the dry cleaners (a vile process which takes the guts out of everything) so I ask any other Tootal devotees - how do you wash the buggers? Mine now have flies hanging around them so I have to act. Special procedures? Same question for silk ties too actually, which I rarely wear, preferring the knit-tie obviously, even though I do believe the striped silk number to be so very smart, when I'm in the mood.

Unless they are stained I would just give them a spray with Febreeze and hang them outside on a nice dry day.
