Anthracite grey Smedley merino v jumper
light blue.white gingham RL button down
White Uniqlo slim fit (501) denim
Navy Uniqlo socks
Snuff Tricker's mudguard playboys

Pretty happy with the Uniqlo denim, not expensive, japanese denim, will see how they wash and wear.

That's what my cool geography teacher wore. His breath always smelled like scotch.

Can't understand French, but those photos confirm white socks as a no no for me. Maybe back in the day they were all the rage, but that was then.

Does anyone on here still wear white socks, unless when doing some form of exercising?

I'd wear them with a tracksuit, but NEVER with jeans etc.

When I wear socks now I wear white or off white ribbed cotton crew socks. I only wear dark or black socks with dark dress pants and the last time was Christmas. I do see some old guys wearing shorts and black socks and sandals around here.

You wear a track suit?

Well it's a shell suit really, but whose splitting hairs?

Sarcasms aside, there's nothing wrong at all with a track suit if worn on the right occasion, and depending on the style.

Mine's a plain light grey cotton with a zip front. The bottoms aren't elasticated either. Perfectly acceptable when worn to and from the gym. Looks great with white socks too (wink)

I always wear these with a navy blue suit, white shirt and black shoes:

If they were simply white, they probably wouldn't work, but the navy stripe picks up the navy in my suits, and the white corresponds with my white cotton shirts and my white linen pocket square, so I can make it work.

Now I've got what you mean:

The heads have a thing about shoes. The worst are black shiny shoes with shoelaces in them.

... and I thought my black shoes were as inconspicuous as it gets...

Last night's getup. BB Makers Pink oxford, LVC 501Z 1955, Lands End silk knit tie, Brooks bucks. The seersucker jacket is Club Monaco, 3/2 roll with side vents. The right sleeve is a hair long but the damn thing came with functional cuffs, and I'm not paying 30% of what the suit cost to have a sleeve taken up from the shoulder. Still, it's a damn good suit to sweat in for 200 bucks.
