Bop, some great stuff, you are on a roll there.
Would that be a Hardoy-Chair in the second last pic? I just wonder why the three guys are prep? ![]()

Those are wonderful. It's like another planet. A better planet.

Aye, last time I went to Fistral Bay I got attacked by a seagull, and very nearly some Geordies too. I'm sure 60's Hawaii would've been much more pleasant.

Cool find Bop... Big Wednesday eat your heart out!
I really like the photo with the salmon pink estate car. Tres cool indeed..
Also, the other photo of old beaten up cars with surf boards sticking out from every window is exactly in keep with how you imagine the surfers life to be..
From a great group on FB

Lovely colour shot
Nice shot Bop - quite a few people killing it in that one. I especially like the guy in back with his ocbd tucked in and sunglasses on.
The Trouser Technology is very advanced in that picture. Light years ahead of today's offerings.
The last pic is great. I think the guys in suits and girls in dresses are dressed up for something like an exam. I like the combo which the guy in the middle is wearing - dark trousers, lighter coloured jacket. Completely extincted nowadays.
Guy on the stairs has great trousers (Cord?) and is heading to his ballet class, considering the shoes. ![]()
The surfer pic is a good example why I liked the Grannis book so much - it shows the "backstage" area - the crowd watching, the path to the beach, the cars..all the background footage.
I really have a faible for those little beach cars like the Citroen Mehari, Mini Moke and VW Beach Buggy - or the red Jeep.
What year is that last photo Bop? I've been having this urge to grow my hair a bit.. something along the lines of that guy on the stairs.

It's not extinct. I've seen a few shots of Japanese guys wearing it and variations of it.
There was also a great shot of Daniele on Modculture once where he wore dark brown sta prest, a light blue jacket (3button, natural shoulder) and a knitted tie. That was a benchmark for me and one I've never got near.

What I meant was, that I do not see it on the streets anymore. Most people wear suits or jackets with jeans and sometimes khakis. Almost no-one wears combos. Although in my town there are a few fashion-people/igent-types who do.
I like the combo in your pic, that was what came to my mind when I typed that. I have a similiar jacket which would go well with the Weejuns and staprest.
Am not sure, but I think I remember the pic. I guess our man had shorter hair on it...

Yes he did. He was standing next to the scooter he said today he's now sold on.
There was another similar shot he took with (perhaps) the same jacket where he had very short hair too. I think he said it was his astronaut haircut. Such a cool dude.
You're absolutely right. I never see that sort of combo on the streets. It's perhaps too bold for the average man today.

Desert boot shot of the week!
Loving this thread, i can spend hours looking at old photos, like the skate one, these, bands, festival of britain - maybe i just don't like working!!!
