I liked ballroom. And I thought romeo and Juliet very good. Australia was embarrassing in the extreme. Moulin rouge incomprehensible. And the tourism ads silly. I'd not expect he'd do gatsby any good.

Something i notced when i watched Boardwalk empire is how many of the suits were darted. Even those with the natural shoulder often had darts. Was this common in America in the 20's or is it really just the contemporary costume departments take on things?

I see that Mr. Dan Geddes wants my opinion on a Blazer in this film from my morning peep at Ivy-Sty. How right he is to consult a menswear professional who actually works in the industry & not to just sit & listen to the chatter on the Net. !

Indeed. They were very common. Beyond the Brooks No. 1 suit there were many others.

I wish this was in colour, you can imagine Jack's tie and p/s were probably quite gaudy with those patterns and colours. Again I think this is getting on for late 20's/ early 30's. ???

I tried to dig up Bop's Dempsey thread but most of the images have been removed/are unavailable now. This is a real shame as I seem to remember a lot of shots of the young boxer in the early 20's wearing natural shouldered but very much darted and waisted jackets. It looked very American in its way. It also looked European and British and very dandy. It all looked great actually.
