Aertex by John Simons

Thoughts on the range so far?

The plan is to extend it. What would you like to see?

Re: Aertex by John Simons

I was hoping that the shirts previewed a few months ago would be in the first collection. Any news on them?

These two remind me of vintage Arrow. Very nice youthful summer Ivy connotations I think. They would look great with the Mr Leggs Jeans Oliver posted today and burgundy Weejuns.

This range could be great entry level Ivy I think. I've even talked about it with my Moddy mates, who have very quickly realised that all the nouveau Mod shite (like Pretty Green) and the Preppy garbage (RL) they've bought into in the last few years is just atrocious overpriced tat with a false, hype ridden heritage. At the very least both Aertex and John Simons have real heritage.

How is JS curating the collection? Is he designing, advising or just inspiring? Does he have final say on the design and manufacture?

Also, will they be selling it in Tesco with the other Aertex collections?

I like the harrington; I just bought a Gant Rugger wool number at 50% discount the other day:

Those chambray popovers are much nicer than anything linked above though. The full cut looks like JS design indeed.

Don't care for anything else there.

It looks good gear to me, the Kennedy rain coat is a winner and the Harringtons.

A good move by Aertex and if it gets Ivy back onto the hight street then it is a positive step forward for Tesco and other stockists.

I'd like to see them being worn, simple clothes often aren't done justice being shot flat, or on the peg.

Correct, but I prefer the plain presentation than to see some scrawny and youthful model wearing it with their doey eyes and immaculate teeth.

I like every single piece there, especially the non canonical bits. I have a couple of jacket length coats myself, one with big buttons like the first one shown. John Simons has good taste.

I actually like the rainwear stuff - and that working style jackets including the 3 button blazer jacket... Is this somewhere available on the continent, too?

If we can pull together a list of questions, I'll ask John -

Re: Aertex by John Simons

Hello chaps

Has anyone heard any news as to when the Aertex x JS range will be released?

There seemed to be a flurry of activity a while back but of late it's gone ominously quiet. Problems afoot?

Best regards

WH

Not happening according to paul,  nothing went wrong from js' end, but i think aertex shelved it for one reason or another. Shame, i liked the look of the pop over

Maybe this is something Oo can pick up and drive forward - going by the Ivy Illustration thread? Just a thought.

I've hit a road block, ties aren't a problem, but getting shirts made cheap enough is a big problem. If anyone has any leads on uk factories please let me know
