There was actually this fella on Modculture who had his bouffant back combed so tightly it was completely waterproof, and it only cost him the price of a haircut. So I'm not so sure it was us wasting time.
haha. I better put the Mackintosh down, I've pissed myself.
I'd have to say my Burberry keeps me dry in a quite harsh downpour, water rolls off it.
Do you live in a village Rob? I thought you lived in London. Though thinking about it now...
I'm a village person.
^ lol
I fear your knowledge of the two most favoured 18th century methods of waterproofing cotton, has as many holes in it as Thomas Burberry's rubberised gabardine.
I think we are about to see Talk Ivy split into two very distinct camps of preferred waterproofing here.
This could be big. There may not be any coming back from this.
I'm trying to save Scottish jobs here! ...wait, they're probably in the pub too. Ach!

Too short for my tastes.
That's an ideal coat for a fish gutter onboard a trawler. But not many trawler men gut their own fish now. Most just put them on ice and let Tesco do the rest.
Ach, gutting a fish in force 9 gale. It's a lost art.

I've lived in patagonia fleeces pretty much all winter under either Eddie Bauer parkas, Beanie State parkas, Hercules parka, Sears parka and Gloverall...
Would really love summat modern mind..you know...to keep my hand in..cos I'm so down with mountaineering/rambling/sensible middle aged shizzle, ya feel me?
There's loads of Patagonia I like..but not spunked moolah as yet..
I want waterproof too.. and not looking at raincoats here...
So - hit me.....well not literally.. unless you want a piece of me of course..
