Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

I wear my Keydge for work and play with tapered dress pants, an ocdb and a knit tie. I find it really softens the "look". Similar to the Pendleton "Topster", the Keydge is light and easy. Never have tried it with jeans, as I prefer to wear a G4 or a G9 with denim.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

And on topic - I think if it should be a Keydge and you are on a budget, it's always worth to look for the odd bargain on ebay or elsewhere, like this Dick in Edinburgh. wink K also have a sale on their website, and JS also has a Summer sale , if I'm not wrong. If you have the chance to try them before buying, do it. Like it was elaborated before, the J*Keydge ones are more true to their size, the newer ones are smaller.

Besides that, RL also are nice and not necessarily completely lined.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

I've found a fair few slack/slack-ish jackets with Ivy relevance to varying degrees that would be broadly acceptable here.   I do find the RL jackets with very subtle darts and buggy/shoulder only lining. (apart from very slight darts from RL (they appear on ebay constantly, there's one there now in beige I have on watch).   I have also picked up some over recent years from Jaeger, Lands End and a couple of years ago I picked up a load of Aquascutum ones in various colours from their Outlet that I've never seen elsewhere and the shop has now closed.     Lots of brandsrs now sell a 'jersey' material slack jacket that is not relevant here but as a style it is fairly widely adopted.

There is a looking nice 3/2 slack J.Crew jacket relisted on ebay right now I'm tempted by but having won two jackets off ebay this month it may be pushing my wife a bit far.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

went with Keydge in the end. I've got a wedding, a 30th anniversary party of a company both me and the missus worked for (at the century club in London so gotta make an effort) coming up and a family do . Plus I've been lucky lately on other purchases. I agree that with a bit of patience I could have picked up something else and I'm keeping an eye out with the Ralph but I needed/ wanted to get something soon. I'm happy, but if I was to get another I'd probably wait for the sales. Also went into John Lewis and they had some interesting donegal tweed, 3 buttons which were unstructured and didn't appear darted etc. But they were 200 quid and it's summer...

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

I saw that uniqlo one in a chazza I go with Tom's review of it. It was decent properly constructed with allowance. Not bad at all. Apart from the darted front.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

I went back to TKMaxx and the RL jackets are still on sale. Oddly, the 42 which I tried on has no darts but a 36 and 38 on closer inspection was almost identical but with darts. As well as the tan they now have a 42 in a navy chino style cotton material. (with darts) So it is only the one jacket without darts, so maybe a sample? The 4 cuff buttons all 'work'. They had a few iffy stripped BB BD shirts (made in Malaysia) for £25.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

Maybe the omission of darts on that one suit was just a manufacturing oversight.  I know a lot of the clothes that end up in stores like that over here are there because they have slight defects or manufacturing errors.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

I wonder how many prospective members we alienate with out interaction alone?

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

Damn, there's innuendo in there too.  Perhaps I should have said "back and forth" instead of "interaction alone".  Wait... no.  That's not any better.
