Hehe...no you're alright Bop.... it'd only end in tears... and I'm hardly Mr Ivy... in fact...79.58% of topics on this forum bore the tits off me... which is an improvement..as it was 98.23% at one point with only Leer's grey weejuns saving the day...
I've been down to 67.47% at one point but I was eating an awful lot of sourdough bread at the time and am sure that improved my abysmal attention span...

Meanwhile - why ain't we bumped into each other yet in thee manor, Sir? I was in the post office earlier on the Green..but only forgot me shooter didn't I, so couldn't hold it up sadly...and it was peeing down summat awful.... woulda gone arse over tit with my getaway...picked up a nice ebay package mind... more of that anon..

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

I was half way round the Scrubs on a Boris when that lot came down. I had to change my under crackers when I got in it was like going through a car wash...

I shall be perusing the 4 for £10 sock offer in Uniqlo tomorrow and maybe going back to look at those Next shirts as I see they do a 3xl.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

I've got to go to a funeral on Friday unfourtunately. However the fella its for was a full time union  rep , with some what continental tastes (wine, fine food) and smart but relaxed clothes. I think the funeral is going to be some what relaxed and to celebrate and remember a good man, rather  than to mourn . I don't really wanna wear my suit since it's moddish (subtly) and not really summer weight. The Keydge is obviously very casual, but I think it would look ok with smarter chinos, white ocbd and a black knitted  tie. My question is the shoes? I've got a pair of Black AE Mac Neils and a couple of pairs of loafers. Are the AE's too formal for the rest of the outfit?

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

My favourite Keydge alternative is/was the Uniqlo slack jacket from 2008. Whipcord-like fabric, three buttons, undarted, rear vent, patch-and-flap pockets... I wish I had bought one in each colour (khaki, black, and navy).

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

TK Maxx are selling the RL Langley Sportcoat, a Keydge alternative. 'It has all the correct details (except for 4 buttons on sleeve), isn't lined except for the sleeves and doesn't have darts.I bought one for the sale price of £34 rrp £295(yea right!)The catch? Only available in lifeboat green which even Robin Hood would not be seen dead in. But it's 100% cotton and I have a cunning plan. I'm going to dye it olive or dark green. Wish me luck. All sizes available at Lakeside Thurrock. They had about 8 left when I bought mine. I am a 40r but sized up to a 42 to avoid the modern squeezed in look. It was also what I call a proper length. Not all Langley are without darts but these were.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

By the way, I hope you guys like my new "pose." I raise my arms slightly for a much more exciting shot.

I remembered I wanted to ask about the wool Keydge jackets. Isn't there an entire thread about how they fall apart after a year or two? It's a shame since some of them look really nice (not that I would be buying them anyway... it was a miracle I got a chance to own a Keydge at all). My corduroy one feels like a suit of armor.

All of my Pendleton jackets are at least 45 years old now and most of them are in phenomenal shape... Pendleton might therefore be a better investment than Keydge for wool? Not to mention even an expensive Pendleton is half what a new Keydge costs.

But I'm still a neophyte to all this Keydge business.

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

Like I said the new Keydge looks promising but I only saw it on the hanger. It might still be a touch short..but the details I really didnt like, like the sleeve buttons seem to have a new look..I look forward to them coming out if they look like the sample

Re: Keydge vs Alternatives

Great Stuff Joey... love them all...

My wool ones all seem happy enough tbh...my older older ones (the ones that folk thought a tad cardigan like) are a bit too snug for me I think...knew I should have stuck to the 54s...but have been hitting the gym again so may be ok in a bit just over a shirt or summat...

I saw some newish Keydge's in the window at John's on Sunday Bop...am due to pop back in the next few days to get my Cruiser so will report back...

Really dunno when I'll get there but if you're there at the end of the day & I'm passing, I'll whip my measure out and take yer inside leg before you can say "What In the Keydge was THAT"?!?
Work too unpredictable at the mo as to when I get the hell out each night innit...
