Re: Padmore & Barnes

Got my sand wallabees on today, might head out and kick it off.

Actually thinking about it, a mate is back home in Belfast, maybe he fancies a trip south to the factory shop? hmmmmmm

Re: Padmore & Barnes

I think part of the reason they are made in Portugal now is that the tooling and factory has closed - I know there is a thread or post somewhere explaining the reason but not sure where. Might be in the quality of Crepes threadorits online somewhere.

I'm out the country at the minute so only limited online access, though the apartment does have a great selection of vinyl and a Lenco deck with speakers into every room - so not too bad.

Re: Padmore & Barnes

So where are they being made?  Why not Portugal?  They look not unlike Nicholas Deakins (I was almost well and truly put off by the football/clubbing bollocks associations), which are, I think, at least on occasion, made in Portugal.  No Irish connection that I'm aware of and the notion of them being hand-stitched in someone's living room/back garden shed I find fanciful.  Clarks' are also doing something rather, ahem, 'retro' at the moment but, since they became aware of their fall from grace, when are they not?  I wander into their shops, linger for sixty seconds, then find something better to do.  A pity.
