It depends. One pair of jeans I always turn up as they look better to me that way... My selvedge Levi's aren't long enough, they shrank big way so they aren't turned up - same with my Lees (also selvedge). Sometimes if I want them high water they get a small turnup, but usually they are "normal". Looks best... especially with dessies.

Picked up a pair of the 501s JS has. Paul warned me they only loose an inch or so when shrunk, so gonna have to work out how I'll deal with jeans that are about 3 inches too long for my short stubby legs.

Gonna have a look at them with cuffs and think about how I actually want em to look, wanna keep em dark for the mo.

"Rivet and Hide" not far from Tottenham court (London) also have a chain stitch machine -that's another option - I've had a few pairs of Lee jeans done there.
Very professional and can sometimes do while you wait (it's a pretty quiet shop).
I've dropped them off two pairs gone to eat and come back to pick them up.

I've recently boarded the LVC 519 train from Bedford to Dartmouth once again (sizing up via an ebay seller) and they are a little long, hence the question.
Decision now made - no turn ups, no cutting (Sid!), but altered and going to be worn short. SHORT.

Interesting. I invariably have to buy them enough to turn up an inch or so, even white jeans. If I don't, they feel awkwardly short and they fit weird in the rise. I'm about a 32.5 in regular trousers. That gives me a good, right off the shoe kind of length, with either no break or a slight break, depending on the trouser. If I get the same length in Levi's, the rise and the fit at the crotch gets thrown off, and the thighs feel constricted. If I go to a 34, everything fits very well, but I do have to roll up the hem about an inch.

I wear my white jeans like this, too, and I like the look. It's slightly slouchy and devil-may-care looking, in my view.

To be honest I don't even know what my "correct" inseam length is anymore, I always just order short... All my pants except my 501s sit at or above the ankle, like I grew out of 'em... I'm about 6 feet and my usual inseam length for chinos or off-white jeans is 29.25-29.5...
