Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Very nice man! I dig the football buttons but it definitely lends it a more casual weekend look. Too bad there's no such thing as removable buttons where you can swap them in and out for different occasions.

Oh man. I love that jacket. If you decide to sell that and it's on the bigger side of 40R, I'd be interested.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

I'll let you know in a week. I need to do a little work on the lining but otherwise it'll almost certainly be offered up for sale and I'll be sure to post measurements and further details in the appropriate thread. I'll shoot you a PM before doing aything.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

McD has first dibs but I dare say I'd be interested too. Always been interested in that kind of 4 button.

McD, are there any labels on that Brooks to help you narrow down the date? Looks more 80s to me than seventies.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Put it in the tumbler. Alone of course... Hottest program possible I'd say. Try it. Heat works most of the time. But I fear this one is TOO smelly... Try it.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

I think I would put te wrapped item in the freezer myself, maybe wrap in cling first. Leave in for a few days to kill and bacteria and then throw in the wash.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

I don't think the freezer would help as the stink has nothing to do with bacteria; it's a NOS shirt that's never been worn.

It's definitely some kind of cooking related odor. I can't understand how it's so potent.

It really smells like a giant bottle of Worcestershire sauce...

ten years past it's expiration date...

caked on a sidewalk in the middle of July.

I've filled the bathtub with detergent and I'm leaving it to soak in cold water overnight. This thing couldn't smell worse if it were covered in barf!
