Re: Sportswear

Going back to the OP, one of those Beach Cloth Coaches Jackets sold for £175 on eBay last week. It wasn't my size or I would probably have bid on it myself. It seems that most of the nicer pieces from that collection were Japan only, which is a shame as I really liked some of the jackets. The Russell Archive link now re-directs to Russell Athletic main site so I guess it turned out to be a short lived venture.

Re: Sportswear

scored a good USA-made old NOS Russell red pocket t-shirt today for $1 ... all cotton, it will shrink and fade to a nice faded cherry .....

I love that there are other freaks like you all who enjoy this stuff as much as I do ....

this t-shirt will be worn a lot ....

thrifting was nice today, couple of good books and LPs including a beautiful old Stax album from '67 and one on Columbia from '72, both with original inner sleeves etc.

three books, two LPs, one t-shirt = $8.45, then to the killer taco stand ....

/\ Robbie it was just The Super Hits on Atlantic/Dial/Stax but it was so cheap and in nice shape .... nice one on Stax 1967 though, you were a precocious soul youth ...

it amazes me to think of the classic records we all got hip to at remarkably young ages .....

Re: Sportswear

Let's have a roundup, I know some of you have to be buying sportswear and Casual gear, what have you gotten, what have you seen?

we know that college and school tees are Ivy, we know that the West Coast look encompasses early surf tees,

jer*seys, gym clothes, sweats, stadium coats, tees?

Ollie was discussing a repro hockey jersey he liked from Ebbets, Bop's got some baseball hats, Patrick's got a Mets cap, WM wears baseball hats so you can all feel safe that they're legit

Who else wears what sportswear ?

When you're slumming it in casual which means no ocbd what do you wear?

In particular, knowing that t-shirts with logos and writing on them are under very strict scrutiny here, will anybody admit to wearing stuff like that?  Old college, surf, concert t-shirts, even band t-shirts or other stuff like that?

Ironically or sincerely or sentimentally, I have long wondered about this ....

Oxy, Woolly, help me out here ....

Re: Sportswear

I used to buy a lot of logo'd tees when I was on holiday as loved the humour of other countries. I still have a load from Mexico which I don't wear but figure they might look cool with LVC518, denim jacket and cvos for that surf/skate Ivy vibe.

Most of my sporty stuff is just sweats, stripe tees and 5 pockets. Few choice casual half sleeve popovers, Lakeland clicker is worn a lot in the cooler weather which I think has a sporty/casual style too.

Re: Sportswear

My 5 cents...

the Ebbets 'fungo' shirt, unfortunately now only available with the logo...
https://www.ebbets.com/product/ebbets-field-flannel-oatmeal-fungo-shirt/clearance

Saucony repro trainers , and a bit of a bargain at Stuarts right now...
https://www.stuartslondon.com/saucony-m249

and a bit of skatewear to add to the mix, these are only £19 in store at Vans shops...
