Agree with Moose on the fedora size.
Don't mind the bulk of the cap. Could it pull down a little, or is that the lowest it sits? Since I started wearing a newsboy/bakerboy cap, most of my other flat caps look too small to my eyes.

The fedora feels like it fits well but it probably needs to be pulled down a bit in the front. Maybe I need one with a wider brim? This has a 2" brim. I feel like it's proportional with my small head and narrow shoulders.
The flat cap is too small, but only barely. Because of this, and the plaid houndstooth pattern, I'm going to send it on down the river and search for a solid color in a larger size.

I'd avoid a wider brim than that on anything other than a sun boonie. The pointy fedora shape suits you well.
Hats are like anything else, just start wearing them and you learn fast what works. I feel they should always have a practical use foremost (then by all means push the boat out).
I'm rarely without a titfer now. Sometimes I even end up putting something on my head indoors if it's a bit drafty.

These caps from Hanna are my favorites. Noggin Tops in Connecticut used to sell them but all they have at the moment is one of these patch things, which I dislike intensely.

Those look pretty decent. Similar to the ones I was raving about earlier, but probably easier to obtain your side of the Atlantic.
Another hat tip: they really are one thing that require perfect sizing. Therefore knowing one's exact size is essential, and of course buying accordingly. And remember US and UK sizes are slightly different (I found out the hard way that US sizes come up 1/4" smaller than UK).

On consulting a hat maker and collector it would appear that the flat cap we most hanker after comes from a Belgian style of hat.
The slightly extended bill is apparently a characteristic of that tradition.
This might explain why CitySport hats are close to mark on this.
Those Hanna hats look good, excellent choice of colours/fabrics.
