I only brush my Weejuns with my girl. Sometimes she brush them for me.

It's very interesting to see all the ads for Corfam shoes here. I used to wonder how all the Americans we used to see here in the 60s always had such highly polished shoes, until a school friend of mine went over to Boston and told me they were plastic! It took me over 40 years to track a pair down , but finally got a nice used pair of wingtips last year, although the guys in the shop had absolutely no idea what they were - but then again, why would they? They stopped making them for civilians years ago, as Corfam doesn't mould itself to the feet, is hot in summer and cold in winter. The US military still use them as a dress shoe though.

Corfam was around for a while in the 60s UK, back when anything plastic was good and desirable and natural materials were shunned by a population who still believed what advertising men told them. Tuf shoes had a Corfam range, my mum bought me a pair for school and, as has been observed, they made your feet sweat like anything.  Not for long though, as they didn't stand up to small boy use like playground football, any scuffing and the shiny coating just peeled off.
