Yup, love Paul Dano and he looks like he's doing a good job of Brian in the trailer - lookin forward to this.
It's showing at a cinema near me on Tuesday, and of course it's the one night of the week I have something to do.

So you stopped it when Cusack was introduced I take it?
I enjoyed the bits with Cusack the best..thought itd be the other way round..I enjoyed all really the parallels made between his younger and older self and those relationships of control from his dad and later the doctor..and the finally getting what he really needed via the relationship with his second wife. I thought it was all good stuff
My main issue was Cusack did not look Brian enough and I found him annoying, whereas Dano nailed it. Overall it was a decent biopic and entertaining.

Well, I haven't even seen it.
1. Was he wearing a red plastic fireman's helmet at any point?
2. Did he set his piano up in a sand box when he went loop-the-loop?
If these aren't in it, I'm not interested.
1 - YES
2 - YES.

Thank you - I will investigate.
One of the things i really like was the sound on this film..straight from the beginning the music mixed in with speech fading in and out...deafening sound of people eating and the audible hallucinations Brian suffered all done really well and made the film sensory not just storytelling
I'm hoping to see the circa '75 scene in which Dennis feeds a big bearded Brian burgers at every successful session
I really enjoyed the film, but I suppose I'm probably biased as I've loved Brian and the Beach Boy's music since I first heard it in 1963.

With all the recent posts about west coast ivy and tropical ivy I'd be interested to read some more opinions from anyone else who's seen it. I thought it was amazing and both actors did a great job portraying Brian. The scenes showing the making of Pet Sounds were especially good.
And its the old boys birthday today I think..or was it yesterday?
