Re: Brian Ferry: Style Icon...

See...I dont like Rowland...but he to me has a more engaging sense of style than Ferry...a true creative stylist... Ferry is a guy that is just dressing well, especially in the later pics of him...no harm in that but dont think it entertains the highest order of the stylists

Re: Brian Ferry: Style Icon...

Ferry has been much, much more influential than Rowland could ever be. Although, the look of Dexy's now is absolutely first rate. Is it Rowland or some stylist?

I think for the younger generation now, it might be easy to overlook how seminal Roxy Music and Ferry were in the 70s and 80s, as big an influence and inspiration as Bowie was on bands of the era.

Re: Brian Ferry: Style Icon...

You know Im the biggest Eno fan going, Im not talking about the music. Im talking about Ferry's ability with clothing. To me its a guy dressing well...but we can go round in circles, if it works for you thats great. Personally to me I think he is pretty pedestrian. I think Rowland pretty much invents his looks, Ive heard him talk about it with Dexys through their periods. Like I said i dont even really like his style or his music...but i feel he is the real deal when it comes to creativity and style

Re: Brian Ferry: Style Icon...

But even he was influenced by Ferry's Roxy Music, see 3:30 mark:

Anyway, I've just bought the new Dexy's album on CD, it's on Warner, so I might not be able to FLAC it.

Re: Brian Ferry: Style Icon...

The guy is a creative genius Formby, you've got pretty bad taste by most standards so I can understand why you'd prefer someone like Ferry and that god awful tailor you posted a while back. I'd prefer not to say it...but sometimes you just get backed into a corner.
