I've never been big on the Shaggy Dog, I'm sure you could sort them with one of these:

Ackers knew who the maker was on the Drake shetters, I cant remember who it was but maybe if he sees this he can give people the nod

The last batch Drakes did were re-badged a Jamieson's sweater,
the new ones are a custom design for Drakes with slightly wider cuffs + ribbed hem and a heavier gauge yarn for the knit.

For US members they are almost identical to the Andover Shop Brushed Shetland but in a slightly different colours

I have the Andover in nantucket red (dumb name, it's actually salmon pink) and while I certainly dig it, the fit is a bit too generous for me. I much prefer Press sizing.

I'm interested in seeing that burnt amber color... I wonder how close it is to O'Cs cumin shetland? The mooskit/shaela, mogit and osprey colors could be interesting too... it sounds like they're sourcing wool from the same weavers as Simply Shetland based on the colors: http://www.simplyshetland.net/Jamieson-NaturalSolids.html + http://www.simplyshetland.net/Jamieson-Spindrift.html

Gee, thank you Uncle Ollie! I'm in the market for a burgundy or port wine Dog and I don't think their 'Blue line' is doing it for me fit wise.

The Drakes one I picked up is Port Wine colour. Harley did a wonderful one called oyster which I wish I had snagged.

Re: New shaggy dogs for fall season

Press did an oyster color last season, which I have and dig very much. I think O'Connell's has a few similar shades, although they aren't the heavily textured brushed Shetlands. The deep purple port wine is a great color. I've got their burgundy from last season, so I'm in no hurry to order it, but I'd gladly make room in my closet for that one too. I imagine it looking especially cool layered under an earthy tweed sack.

Burnt amber is a great choice.

Re: New shaggy dogs for fall season

Do you guys have any recommendations for lighter weight brushed shetlands? I already have a few shaggy dogs and was looking for something a little thinner that could cover the in-between seasons.

Brushed Shetlands, i.e. Shaggy Dogs, are always going to be heavier weight. OC's regular Shetlands are lighter weight and can be worn year-round depending on your climate. I often wear them on summer evenings, but then I live in the best clothes climate in the Western Hemisphere!

Ordered two and returned two. The cut is very unflattering with a strange neck opening ( probably unisex…). But the sizing is the biggest issue. They're largest shirt was too small for me. I am 37/38 chest.
