Yes, it's a very good article. The made to order shirtings on the webpage still has that glory that FNB described.

this one, and also the "West End" ones are what attracted me to this site, before it became a panopticum of strange taste and how-to-get-noticed groupthink, Ayn Rand e3hu3e0

There is nothing wrong with being noticed for your unique taste and style, a rare commodity these days.

Hm. Good point. Maybe I should grow a beard and have some tattoos, that would make me more unique.

Re: How Harvie & Hudson have changed

My own approach to mens fashion does not exist, as I personally do not follow "fashion", but I do have views on what makes a well-dressed man:

Quality and fit overrule novelty and brands. Menswear is always relative to the individuals body, appearance and lifestyle. not to forget social class. "Dressing the man" is not about consciously "getting noticed" but about making the person shine as a whole. Good clothes make a man stand out, but nobody would actually know why. Take my beloved navy 2B SB suit - it can make or break a man.

Insecure and / or boring people might want to overcompensate by dressing like all the IGent mainstream followers. Igenting has become fashionable, and, like hipsters, overdoing it when it comes to clothing has become quite a fad. Fine for me, but "dressing well" is something entirely different.

Of course - dressing like a peacock doesn't have to mean that the person is boring, and dressing in a very restrained manner can still mean that the person has nothing to day. In my world, which seems to be different from the one you live in, there is a tendency for men to be less keen on "getting noticed" rather than to "look the part". But that is here, and where you are, that seems to be different.

All this time, FNB, and being a plastic surgeon no less..
Just noticed your avatar has the right ear facing rear and the left correctly positioned.

I went there again - just to buy a super discounted black tie ensemble. Yes ok, but the shirts....no. Sad, but no. There good times are gone.

Online and in their shop. In the old days they had at least twice as many patterns.

Re: How Harvie & Hudson have changed

Yesterday. And I guess you know exactly what I mean. In the old days they had a nice variety of colours and patterns, from classics to T&A-like rainbow/pyjama.
