Re: Ivy League style for today

The UK is currently in the grip of Storm 'Doris' (named storms make for great newscopy), its not cold or wet in Middlesex but it is very windy, so I am mainly wearing 'Rugged Ivy'.

O'Connels plaid flannel shirt, olive Hertling jumbo cords with cuffs, USN peacoat, Stetson tweed postboy cap, chunky ass-kicking mile-munching Paraboot Michaels.

Something about the chin pointed upwards and sunglasses indoors suggests sight impairment.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Jeans with a coat doesn't work for me and feel a pocket square without a tie looks too much. The plain toe blutchers and shirt look really nice but the overall outfit is a bit patchy for me.

You do have a whiff of stevie wonder with the sunnies. Haha.

Edit: just read your details - and spotted they are AE brogues. Still think a jacket and jeans look is a bit Clarkson even with the rules you have used, think with the unstructured cotton (French workers jacket / ice cream coat) jacket it looks fine.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I wear my 90 percent of my IVY clothes with dark denim and it throws the look completely. Just doesn't look IVY.  Makers, Shetland, Gloverall and Beass weejuns and Florsheim longwings all ruined this winter ( as far as The Look is concerned) by my indigo 501s.
