Film noir music playlist ?

Hi everybody,

I made a dark jazz playlist for this genre.

Have you ever had this mood when you feel like a lonely detective walking through dark streets in an old "film noir"? Here are some melancholic and relaxing tunes to go with your blue states.

Spotify & Deezer: http://bit.ly/2mwMPcU
Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P … 8DyKNmqA05

If you know some good tracks to add to this playlist, feel free to share!
Thanks!

At the moment this piece seems somehow relevant

Ahah! Thanks! smile
Unfortunately, it's an advertising. Not on Spotify. And the slogan at the end is quite annoying.

The slogan makes it.

Don't be like that or I will get Beestonplace onto you.

You may prefer this I suspect. Poor old eskimos.

Frequently. Or a lonely criminal walking the dark streets. Particularly when I watch a lot of such movies.

The French did the best film noirs in my opinion. Maybe best is not the right word, as the French version has had less success and influence than the US original, but they're certainly the only film noirs to inspire and captivate me.

some sort of banal legitimacy

Re: Film noir music playlist ?

I would recommend the following:

Duke Ellington - Anatomy of a Murder
Miles Davis - Ascenseur pour l'échafaud
Johnny Mandel - I Want To Live
Elmer Bernstein - The Man With The Golden Arm

If you go a bit later, out of the filmnoir era, but very much in keeping with detective jazz theme, you can include The Pink Panther soundtracks and on and upwards into Quincy Jones film soundtracks of the late 60s and early 70s.
