Those are probably two of the most surreal baseball-watching crowd photos I think I've ever seen, Berkel.
first one looks like lacrosse, second one looks like a football game? cool pics whichever sport .......
I'm not so sure about cool Whichever sport, they are eerie. to me. An unsettling portrait of America on main street, as I see it, a little Robert Frank like if not David Lynch.
University of the South. 1969, as I said... Their yearbooks have some of the better photos, as yearbooks go... Definitely choices being made rather than just mindless snapshots...
I went back for a quick look but couldn't find many other crowd shots, they were clearly too frightening to be included again... if I do come across any more I'll put them up though...
cool as far as showing lots of Ivy clothes, the style is great and consistent even though 1969 is late in the Ivy game, but though we like them the clothes were undeniably expressions of the commitment of the students and the school to upholding the traditional values of the Old South, which in 1969 were more conservative than those of Main Street America ....
any way you slice it, some people in that crowd seem upset about something, but it could just be that the home team was losing .....
