Re: Hutton Desert boots

Where can you buy the Playboys from? The website has no shop?

These are the Sanders ones mate. Not sure if you are after the Huttons though. They also do them in a shop in Piccadilly Arcade in London

Re: Hutton Desert boots

In my opinion the crepe comes up too high both on the current Sanders and the Swedish Playboys. The vintage examples that Tom posted are perfect.

By the way it looks like Oi Polloi has a run of the Sanders on the Sno last: https://www.oipolloi.com/collections/sanders/products/sanders-brit-chukka-boot-chocolate-ss17#product

Re: Hutton Desert boots

Forgot how much I fancied a pair of decent brown suede playboy boots (for some reason I don't wear brown desert boots, just the cola and sand).

Unfortunately I'd forgotten how many ugly versions of playboy boots exist! Platform-like soles, point-ish toes, etc.

Re: Hutton Desert boots

Since my Clarks has started to disintegrate and Hutton only has a limited run on brown ones, the only way to go to get a decent pair of desert boots is Astorflex? I like Clarks but I always thought that they looked a bit too "chunky", atleast on me. I would definitely purchase a pair of Huttons if they were in stock, but it seems, atlest according to the site, that I have missed my chance with those.

New limited edition Clarks DB, made in italy of heavyweight 'bronto' suede , a collaboration with English tannery Charles F. Stead.

If anyone wants to spend 300 pounds on some Clarks that look stupid, don't miss these: https://www.clarks.co.uk/c/Desert-Welt/p/26127855

Re: Hutton Desert boots

Definitely.

DBs arrived today. The stitching isn't orange at all (unlike in the photos) and they're made in Italy, which I wasn't anticipating. Indeed they may well be of a similar standard to the Huttons I missed out on. For the price (75.65 inc. delivery) I'm not complaining.

Now to wait for some appropriate weather.

Re: Hutton Desert boots

The stitching is the same colour as the suede and in the flesh they look absolutely superb.

I'm almost tempted to buy a pair in another colour.
