"Wafer weight cord"?

A summer weight cord offered by the Palm Beach company a long time ago. And before you ask no it isn't cord/corduroy as we know it. It's a light chino weight but with a ribbed cordy texture. I've seen one Palm beach vintage suit thought to be circa mid 60s and some samples of attempts (crap so far) to recreate the fabric. Anybody with any info? Summer Cord? Madness! Brilliant madness!

Perhaps you could post a picture or two of what you're talking about?

The fabric your describing appears to be one that was originally made by Haspel ( 63/64 ish), similar fabrics by other manufacturers are a bit later in the decade.
It's a variation on a 'Bedford Cord' type fabric but with a very high Polyester content ( hence the lightweight ).
