I have just received an e-mail from Hutton. They are ceasing production.
Damn they're the only DBs outside of Clarks that I have ever been tempted by.
Looks like I'm going to have to stick to the made in Vietnam Clarks. Strange because it seems like the Huttons sold very well.
I have seen Hutton adverts too. I am sure they are on Ivy Style.
Nice pair, in my size, for sale on Ebay. I can't say I'm not tempted.
They really are a nice, Italian-made boot. Certainly a cut above the Italian-made Florsheim Johnny Simons was stocking around 2007.
Shame they aren't my size, would've definitely taken a punt.
They're made by Astorflex to The Weejun's specs. I like them, think they're great quality and very kind to ageing foot arches, but do they lack a certain visual va va voom? I think the Clark's silhouette is still the one and they are now made in Portugal to a much higher standard than the Vietnamese ones. Worth mentioning here that the Weejun's version of the McQueen Playboy chukka is something else - great quality and design and absurdly comfortable.
I'm in two minds about Clarks'. I've taken to my Astorflex desert boots like a duck to water but saw a very nice pair of Clarks' in a kind of ginger snuff colour last year. They had been reduced in price but weren't my size. Otherwise I might have taken the plunge.
At some point, though, they switched from Vietnam to China, didn't they?
Roaming the world, seeing how many workers they can bully...

Did you get a pair of the tumble grain leather too 2RS? I'm loving how the leather's bedding in and make a neat change from the suede ones with cords and the like

I'm afraid I didn't. I wasn't convinced by them and I'm already regretting that decision...
