Re: Ivy League style for today

Ah ha! Thank you, LeeLo. I thought perhaps the ribs were sagging skin. (Not really--I know you're not that old. However, I am, and my old eyesight did not pick out that detail.)

Great work as always, Ox. Love that sweater every time.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Thanks guys!

I still think that the trousers look a bit too big. They're 31R, does anyone know what the rise are on 31S? I would mail O'Connells but they're not very eager to answer questions. Atleast my questions...

Re: Ivy League style for today

I once bought an S size in O'C's trousers - big mistake. Very little rise. The trousers in the photo are perfect so change nothing and enjoy.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Berkeley_Breathes - Thank you. The green was a bit of a reach for me as well, but I found it at thrift. It was fate. The surcingle has a burgundy stripe. I got it at leatherman (http://www.elizab.com/category/lm-surcingle-belts.html). I like their belts.

Nice, I was just looking at their offerings recently... Guess I'll have to get one now!

I like the jacket, Ox, but I think you should pop the collar. They're more or less meant to be worn that way.

Andover Shop ecru broadcloth buttondown collar, J. Press cotton cuffed khakis, unlined Alden penny loafers, silk/cotton/wool blue/yellow foulard from Louis Boston, vintage navy hopsack 3-button patch pocket half-lined sack blazer with two-on-the-sleeve by ______*, brass C-buckle bridle leather belt from New England ....

*vintage maker whose sport coats and blazers do me right but are too hard to find 40 and 50 years after the boom years.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Damn, stan, that paragraph alone is worth a couple pages of photos...

Today - started out in yellow LL Bean short-sleeve OCBD, Brooks Brothers ribbon belt in navy with gray and burgundy stripes, cuffed and slightly short chinos, Wigwam 625s, and scuffed white Keds... as it's quite chilly today ended up in a ragged old white (well, whitish) Pine Point sweatshirt from Fruit of the Loom, Wrangler "wheat jeans," kept the 625s on... Knocking about packing old Army duffles for some training that's on the horizon...

Re: Ivy League style for today

No reason to be sorry, but I don't happen to like the way Ox's works at all, frankly. If Ox likes it, fine, of course, but for me, one of the distinctive features of this jacket is the popped collar. I find it a little odd to see it worn any other way.
