Re: The continuing saga of the LVC 519 'bedford cord' 5-pockets

OK, bit of help please.

I've got both the Swamp and Fog LVC 519s in a 34 and they fit great.
Recently bought a pair of Blue Mirage in 34 and they are definitely smaller. Not just a slightly different cut, but actually smaller. Probably an inch smaller on the waist.

Has the sizing changed that much over the two or three years?

They have Woof.
I have a pair of the orig. re issues LVC did when they first came out which are great and then a couple of years later I bought a second pair in another colour.
Different size on the waist and rise and a completely different taper on the leg. Not very good.

They do look pretty low. I had the opportunity to try on the 1975 519's instore, they were roomier in the leg and the waist seemed true to size.

Re: The continuing saga of the LVC 519 'bedford cord' 5-pockets

I have a couple of pairs of the LVC 1975 519 reissues that were out a few seasons ago and they're OK, they measure up almost identical to a pair of original vintage 519s I have.
The waist is true to size with a OK 12" rise as well... they're not bad.
How they compare to the one's linked here... I don't know.

I have the Mirage, and they are a bit of a disappointment especially on the rise and the top of the leg - but I shouldn't complain as I got them for $40 when in NY - they shrank a touch which has exaggerated the things that are wrong.

I just washed my pair today, I hope that they will still fit.

Re: The continuing saga of the LVC 519 'bedford cord' 5-pockets

Just tried a pair of the most recent at stuarts, went up a waist size (from 34-36)  but still disappointing. Tried on the 38 which were actually good rise wise and even fit but they were the 34 (32) leg and with 4 inches to loose off the waist and 3 off the legs it all seemed too much effort?

Prairie Sand - anyone have any idea what colour this actually is in the flesh?

The colour seems to vary wildly online and it would be good to get some advice before a cheeky bid is placed.

Just in from the 519 Bedford news department: I am trying a new centre crease on my 519s

First day out in the wild today and I must say I am liking it so far...

Half sleeve BB, Hanes Beefy, Bass and a 519 center crease and the look is nailed!
Still, I do like the crease when it's waned slightly and there's a knee. It's the ironed but worn - because they're clothes - look.
Love it.

Not bad ZJ, pretty close to what I was wearing (par the Hanes as it was warm)
