That... That has got to be one of the most beautiful patterns of Madras I have EVER seen. Great catch, Lee. Wear it well.

Dexter made in Maine penny loafers, mint, and the price was right, let's see how they fit, should be here in a few days, I have many pairs of Aldens but these serve a summer purpose for me.

Recently got this nice olive/grey Brooks Brothers suit
It's being altered at the moment but looking forward to getting it on properly.

And in a suit-buying frenzy I also picked up this Brooks Brothers poplin
Which again needed a little tailoring, but nothing major

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Where did you get those? I should have got some instead of the Huntington tan summer suit I got which, whilst being very good, has taken a hell of a lot of alterations to make it decent (particularly getting the excessive lining removed). And it's not even a 3-2.

thanks AC and yes Sid congrats on those killer Brooks poplins, my longtime faves ... everybody's really ....

as for my Dexters, they were returned, they looked good but were too small

maybe it's just as well, for reasons of space ..... but still, alas, because they were uncreased and near-mint ....

that's the way it goes

Been leaving US eBay alone recently due to the expense of importing stuff now. However as I'm on holiday there in a week or two I didn't think it would hurt to have a little look and I came across these deadstock Dexter loafers in my nephew's size. So they will be waiting at my hotel for me. A $25 buy it now and a few more dollars for postage. He's a lucky boy.

Dang, those are beautiful! How's the nephew's style coming along these days?

Lovely NOS Dexter's, he is a lucky Boy and you are a great uncle Woof..
I do hope he doesn't wear them with the drainpipes he favors.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Nice Woof, had my eye on a few but as not going stateside I didn't pull the trigger, I did score a lovely pair of italian made Yumas though from TK and I really needed some replacement loafers as my NOS weejuns are getting a little shabby.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Arrow were never top tier but the 'Dover' shirts were the first USA button downs I ever bought, back in early 80s and they were great, knockabout shirts, sturdy with decent collars. Just scored this so will be taking a little trip down memory lane...

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Massive discoveries, excerpts part 1:

* Harvard Coop 3/2 deep slate blue flannel sack suit, two on the sleeve '82
* Andover Shop 3/2 Southwick gray chalkstripe sack suit '82
* J. Press 3/2 tick stripe caramel heather sack sport coat '79
* Andover Shop 3/2 Southwick dark gray/brown glen plaid sack suit '82
* J. Press oxford cloth white buttondown shirt with flap pocket and rear collar button
* assorted ties from Chipp, Brooks Brothers, et al.
* bespoke white Sea Island cotton tennis collar shirt
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Andover Shop peak lapel one-button sack tuxedo, mint condition
* khaki cotton sized baseball cap, never worn ....
* multiple pairs of Birdwell board shorts
* mint J. Press poplin walk shorts in navy
* unopened still-wrapped J. Press plain collar pencil-striped broadcloth flap-pocket shirt

All of these finds were in mint to excellent condition ....

I found them in the attic and hadn't seen any of these things for at least five years ....

the tuxedo still fits me and it's a keeper ..... also keeping the baseball cap, Birdwells, and the Press shorts and pencil-stripe shirt

everything else however is slated to be traded for chili dogs, cheeseburgers, french fries, and frozen citrusy beverages

----------------------

also located was an excellent Late '70s Prep ski jacket in navy/royal/yellow/white from '78 and a classic navy blue Eddie Bauer down jacket with navy corduroy collar, those are earmarked for some little rats in the west ....

did locate a monster box of minty sneakers for discussion on another thread but yeah Adidas, Vans, Converse, Saucony, N!ke, all present and accounted for ....

the only casualty was a pair of Half Cabs that went the way of all flesh ....

I look at my old stuff, see Medium or some 15˝ or 16 or 40R evilness on the label, and then I weep because ... you know .... it doesn't fit me anymore and I've got to let it go but this blast from my past .... I was a little Ivy Prep brat, what can I say ....

can't wait to locate the old Patagucc'
