Sta-Prest from Ivy Threads

https://creaseslikeknives.wordpress.com/2017/07/26/the-quest-for-sta-prest-nik-louis-of-ivy-threads-interviewed/

According to the above, Ivy Threads is a US company that is going to be offering some close repros of original Sta-Prest, complete with appropriate high rise. Sounds good.

Their shirts are less appealing:

They look more vintage Sherman than vintage Brooks to me, including the dreaded closed box pleat at the back. I'm not too keen on these trousers either, as the front rise seems to be lacking:

Still the forthcoming Sta-Prest should appeal to those who like / don't mind man-made fibres.

I'm surprised this company hasn't yet been the subject of an IS write-up (or maybe Chens is contacting the proprietor as we speak).

He will be now, then all the trads will moan saying it's not WASP wear and that the blue bloods would never wear mixed fabrics!!!! hahahaha

Owning several pairs of original Levis sta prest I can agree they have a much better rise that the regular repro stuff, though the LVC cords were pretty good on the rise. I have a pair of the 306 he mentions, was never aware they were limited, pretty sure they were just in the regular collection, the issue with them was the sizing was all over the place, mine are a 29" waist as the 31' was HUGE!

If he remakes the more interesting styles then good on him but if it's just the regular 5 pocket style then i think he is missing a trick.

Permanent press trousers were also available from M & S in that era.

Best sta prest colour was Air Force blue.

Not something I would wear these days though.

Re: Sta-Prest from Ivy Threads

Personally I think they look quite low key and tasteful in the vintage ivy shots. Not quite as low key when they're worn with ankle-swinging DMs and other skinhead attire, however that is a different matter. My only reason not to invest is an aversion to polyester, although in this context it seems unavoidable.
