Have recently joined the Paraboot club, taking delivery of a pair of Marron Chambords from the Object Style sale. They have a strange white film on them... is this normal? It seems to rub off so I assume its a byproduct of the leather treatment process.
Do you guys bother with the special Paraboot cream?
I do not bother with their cream, I use general leather cream which works fine.
I really dig Paraboots, I seriously covet a pair of Prevert in Galaxy Noire Ebene Grain but I'd settle for a pair in Lis Cafe or a pair of Griff.

Bought 3 pairs when I was in Paris a month or so ago: Neuilly in dark brown (cafe), Avignon in light brown (marron), and some super casual Reims slip ons in dark brown again. Note that they now have a few offerings in cordovan, but that often brings the price up close to 2X, not worth it for me.
Hi - any tips on where to buy them in Paris ?
Are they much cheaper as I'm in Boulogne at the moment and strangely they seem more expensive there than in the UK (John Simons etc)
I always liked this quote from Killing Zoe:

If you have a non-French passport you should be able to get the "detaxe", that is to say the paper work you need to request a VAT refund. That lowers the price quite a bit.
I generally buy mines on rue du Faubourg St Honore. That store is also close to the Carmina store on avenue de l'Opera (but Carmina's prices are such that I didn't buy anything during my last trip).

I've a feeling the "detaxe" option only applies to non-EU passport holders. Which in fairness will work for our British TI brothers in a year or so...
I don't know whether it works for the UK right now.
Shilling for John Simons - currently has Paraboot Avignons in three colours for £240 a pair.

Sat opposite another Paraboot Michael wearer on the Tube this morning. We both clocked the discrete little green label and just nodded to each other.
Congratulations to McGeorge Bundyburger on acquiring a pair, they will serve you well.
Here's a good article from the Heddels blog about the history of Paraboots:

For those who might be interested, I have a pair of Paraboot Bergerac boots on eBay right now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/324302297217
(I'll pay the shipping within the continental US to forum members here.)
