Re: The Late 70s Prep Checklist

Ha! I actually just saw the guy the other day, he told me that the sweater was indeed Bean... Everyone took their photos for the yearbook the week they were due in March, hence the one-season look of the Colby pics big_smile

I love that guy, the chamois shirt under the Norwegian sweater with the mittens and balaclava is an incredible look... to be admired from a safe distance...

Re: The Late 70s Prep Checklist

That trucker jacket is just for you stan... Despite getting many mentions from you here as essential late 70s prep, the thread has almost no trucker jackets... I actually have my eye on a point blanket-lined one from Schaefer for this winter... made in USA of course...

Re: The Late 70s Prep Checklist

I agree about the opera pumps... The moccasin duck boot is and has been on my wish list for a long time, maybe this coming spring I'll pull the trigger on it...

Kind of surprised that the OPH would lump penny loafer Weejuns together with tassel loafers, though... A "decrepit" penny loafer with tape around it is very different from a "decrepit" tassel loafer with tape around it... I really do see well-shined tassel loafers as going hand-in-hand with wingtips as the classic dress shoe - while pennies have always been more casual...?

Good article and a nice collection of images at the bottom. I thought a few on this thread might appreciate it.
