Re: Incidental to trying out Shetlands

Thanks for this, Jeff. I've been looking into getting some new lambswool, this is perfect timing. Great PSA, thanks for sharing the knowledge!

Re: Incidental to trying out Shetlands

According to an Amazon review, there is a logo on the sleeve (that resembles a stain). Can you confirm please Jeff?

Also reviews state that they are (or may be) a little thinner than typical sweaters. And they are a smaller fit than typical sweaters.

40 pounds (UK price) is not that cheap, but if they're good enough it would be worth it.

some sort of banal legitimacy

Bring them all up on Amazon by searching on 'Great and British Knitwear'.

Treble Clef ... you were looking for button through lambswool waistcoats ... of which they have six colours. Definitely no logos on the sleeves of these.

Re: Incidental to trying out Shetlands

No logos, not what I would call thin. As for sizing, I ordered a small and the measurements I posted above are not smaller than usual. If anything, I'd call it slightly big.

I believe O'Connell's used this company as well. See here:

Re: Incidental to trying out Shetlands

Received my v-neck. Material and construction quality are very good. Unfortunately the 'V' is too small for my personal liking - I prefer a wider, lower 'v', this is to narrow/high for me.

Re: Incidental to trying out Shetlands

I got my large sleeveless cardigan. It's a reasonable weight and the 'landscape' colour is a nice pale green. The placket has a cotton backing which you don't get on the cheapest cardigans. I have ordered another in a medium to get the fit right, worth £39 as a layering item. Would be better if it had pockets though.
