Re: Ivy League style for today

So happy to hear that, Berk!

That's unfortunate about the shoulders on yours, Woof.  Hope the new chick can sort it.  I'm mighty happy with the way the shoulders fit and look on mine.  But it's an older (dated October '89) US-made model.

Mine sits at a strong 3-button stance.  I've thought about pressing it to 3/2, but I think it looks good as is, so it stays for now.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Cheers.

I hadn't heard of them but was visiting John Simons and popped in, just had a quick look. They have some knit ties and Panthrella socks of Ivy interest and seem to do made in Italy stuff under their own label. Their clientele seems to be the type to prefer a wide legged, loose fit but I found the trousers pictured which are a slim fit (wish the rise was a bit higher). Before sale discount these were £170 I expect chinos to be a bit cheaper and wool a bit more.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Lots of awesome stuff here! Woof, two great looks - love flannel with corduroy but that Brooks suit is really breathtaking. Love the very high third buttonhole on the jacket! Is that tie more blue or more silver? Your photos disagree on the matter...

Treble Clef, love that jacket...

WM, that sweater looks incredible, especially paired with olive trousers (a juxtaposition I wouldn't have thought of)...

Ox, my man, what can I say?? Love the scarf, love the shetland, props as always on the Barbour and the flap-pocket OCBD (LL Bean?) - but those ties really make the outfits in my opinion, and the belt with silver buckle too. A+

That suit is something else, Woof.  These H&J jackets are looking really good.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Thanks fellas - that tweed suit is one of my favourite vintage finds, a stand out item. In a largely tweedless world 99% of the population probably wonder why anyone would deliberately wear an old suit like that. I've yet to have anyone offer me loose change when I'm wearing it in public, but it could happen! However it always elicits compliments from those who have a sartorial bent and I resolve to wear it more often.

Beebs -neither picture tells the truth as the tie is sky blue.
