Ha, he's got Woof's smile.
I just checked with my wife, who is Anglo/American and she looked into it with the embassy and apparently things are looking promising re: the cap I would have to move there in order to apply but apparently they would look favourably on supplying me with the correct paperwork that would allow me worldwide clearance on wearing the cap. So that's a relief. If that's what it takes, then that's what it takes.
As an American -
- No one generally wears Ebbets-style baseball caps, though they are easily the best kind
- Dad hats are a fashion trend, I also prefer the dad hat soft construction and have many, some from old construction jobs, some from obscure towns, some sports-related, etc.
- Flat-bill caps are off-limits for all but a select few
- The kind of baseball cap worn on the weekend in the summer out on the boat and the kind of baseball cap worn with an Ariat shirt and roper boots may look the same on a superficial level, but they are NEVER to be confused
In general, the classic sports team baseball cap as made by brands like '47 is non-fashion, the absence of fashion... Caps with emojis, the Twisted Tea logo and hunter camo, or a flat-bill cap from the Golden State Warriors or LA Lakers are fashion... Either way, the only way to pull it off is by not thinking about it, ever
I dont think Jonathan King has helped has he Woof? Pretty much killed off the Letterman jacket as well

/\ yes Babbling, the very early New York Knickerbockers pro baseball team wore some kind of straw porkpie hats that resembled No. 1 above.

Looks like something that should be growing in the garden.....and the hat.
I'm looking for a new profile image.. it's all getting a bit much
/\ I'm down to baseball caps and bobcaps, or watch caps or ski hats, whatever you want to call them, I'm very comfortable in them, they feel right to me.
Island-style straw hats also work well for me as sun protection on the beach, I've got palm frond hats, lifeguard-type hats, all that beach gear, worn it forever.
one I might have forgotten to mention is the khaki boonie cap, it's another sun protection option, good for gardening, hiking, beach, outdoor activities, I like it even though it's goofy
