I have a couple of Mercer OCBDs in lavender. In fact, I am wearing one at this moment. I think when the colors verge toward the gray side of the spectrum, they can be a tasteful addition to the male wardrobe. The more purplish they are, the more questionable they become.

Yes pale versions can work - but not for me. There is something in that colour that makes me feel uncomfortable. Its like having fever.
