Odd how the part one is supposed to snip off and discard is now something to be kept and incorporated prominently. It reminds me of those cloths with your name woven in as a pinstripe that someone posted about here last year.

Some tailors use the selvedge inside the pockets on trousers &c. I think I have had it done on some stuff.

I've seen it inside trouser pockets. Fairly harmless and reinforcement too. I like the coat.

My tailors have been doing this at least 20 years.  Always somewhere discreet like inside a hip pocket.
