Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

Sophisticated Californian who has been brought East to help run a major corporation wonders if his shoes fit, or if the sharp Yankee shoe clerk is trying to "make a sale":

Embryonic 1%er wonders if it is against the social code to give someone who makes about $0.14 an hour a "tip":

The most difficult thing about wearing that jacket, is telling your wife you're gay.

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

i dont know where said individual bought the jacket but i would suspect its 'thrifted' ie bought online from a fellow forum member smile SF seems to be full of these guys who trade clothes with one another .. but often it looks like clearance rubbish which nobody else would buy in a million years and is usually sourced from a few brands which are mistakenly celebrated but which make overstylised tat anyway. i get the feeling a lot of these posters cant afford to buy into the imaginary 'lifestyle' they have created for themselves, therefore are forced as a sort of compromise to buy and sell tat with each other.

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

it sort of moulds into a style of its very own, let me paint the archetypal picture, a grey boglioli cotton jacket (with ridiculously high gorge and short legnth), tight chinos (because when you buy online you cant try on first ofcourse) .. .. surely you can wear them with anything right?, checked lime green shirt, purple tie (drakes clearance sale, where else?), second hand crocket and jones brown loafers (subs & old model which has been discontinued). perfect look. oh & forgot white pocket square bought in sale with grey border (because nobody wanted the ones with the border).  good to go!

I recognise that style of discourse. But from where......?

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

Errrrm bit strong .. from that pic it looks as though shoes are pointy pixie shoes but overall concept for a youngster is passable to go wherever they go?

The thing with SF and Ask Mandy is that they are full of youngsters who seem to be graduating from wearing casual jeans wear and want to learn the basics .. unfortunately it seems the blind are often leading the blind..

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

^^ I was going to post Will's idiotic nonsense too. It's just a nylon quilted jacket that's available in virtually every High Street store. There's nothing technical or sporting about the latest Chav must have!
