What shoe did James Brown wear?

For dancing, were they with a leather sole?

I ask because of my experience, in suit and EG caps at the disco.

Not sure what shoes he wears, but as a child he was shoe shine boy.

I reckon his shoes must have fitted him well 'cause he used to sing 'Get On The Good Foot'.

Re: What shoe did James Brown wear?

I have some 'ballroom dancing' shoes up in the attic with suede soles and heels!

Yes, really!

They're a very dark brown punch-top Gibson (I think that's the right name), very soft leather uppers & very low heels.
I don't go ballroom dancing btw, but I used go to various clubs a lot when I was younger with various friends, and for dancing they're perfect for all manner of fancy footwork - spins, turns, slides.

These days I just prop up the bar! (A much better idea!)
