Wingtip Appropriateness

Are these too formal to wear with anything besides a suit?
My style is along the lines of mod and suedehead, and I'm just trying to sort out all this brogue/wingtip stuff.

While fine with suits, I'd put a brogue more in sports jacket territory. Maybe not a summer shoe, but fine with grey trousers and even dark jeans.
