A gift for your bespoke cordwainer - what to get?

My cordwainer John is an old bloke who went through a terrible ordeal making me some shoes, the ordeal was so terrible that he wished he had never made them. So l definitely feel he needs a special surprise gift to saying a big thankyou for the work he did for me. He has little need for anything because he has everything, so what could l buy him to say thanks?

p.s: alcohol and a booking at a nice restuarant is completely out of the question.

A super nice bone handled pocket knife or a proper complete Leatherman tool. With belt pouch. Old blokes like that stuff. My dad had a few pocket knives, he always carried,  he use to gut rabbits, cut a sheeps hoof or anything, then plunge it in the ground to clean it and always peel his apple or orange with it and eat off the end of the knife.

You can give the alcohol and restaurant thingo  to me anytime.

Italians always like a gift - from observation. He does not drink? I was going to suggest a bottle of top Limoncello would be nice.
