Worse than not having meaning is when those around you give it a crass meaning and expect you to chase after the same goals.

I noticed that indy short translated "idiots" into "Morons". I happen to know that idiots are less intelligent than morons because I needed a word to describe men who have been on clothing forums for years and years and who act in a self-defeating or significantly counterproductive way which prevents them from any sartorial  improvement. Specifically, I needed a word for "incapable of learning" and apparently "idiot" fills the bill; although dunce is the actual sub-species of idiot who is incapable of learning. I had to include that because I figured 20 people who can't tie their own tie would google my statement's accuracy.
