Do you like Gin?

The most stylish brand I think:

http://plymouthgin.com/

Favoured by The Savoy Book of Cocktails and, although I never enquired, I'm sure that's what they make the Martinis from in the Savoy's American Bar.

Ahhhhh - Such Memories!

...if only I could remember them...

Re: Do you like Gin?

I'm an avid gin drinker. My daily drinker is Bombay Sapphire, which is more readily available than Plymouth, but Plymouth is smoother.

The best by far is Hendricks.

Re: Do you like Gin?

Poor Pussycat's Girl is sadly mistaken.  There is only one "best" gin and it isn't even close.  It may be quite hard to find, but Cadenhead's Old Raj is as good as it gets.  As a Whisky afficionade, I am sure that you are familiar with Cadenhead.  The gin is truly sublime.  The alcohol content is a bit higher than average which makes it a perfect solution for those of us who think that Martinis need vermouth in a larger proportion than what is currently in, and the aromatics are perfect.  Expensive but excellent.

For that BIG juniper hit the lowly Gordons deserves a nod too.
Not very sophistcated maybe, but a very ginny gin.
I like the label & bottle style too.

I love Gin and have to represent for the Plebeians. I'm partial to Bombay, but I don't turn my nose at Seagram.

Re: Do you like Gin?

As my brother is fond of saying, "gin is in".

When asked which brand he is drinking, his succinct reply invariably is, "the cheapest" ... big_smile

Hey, eg, I have a feeling I'd like your brother. My own favorite is, "Gin is no sin. It's a blessing."

Re: Do you like Gin?

Only just spotted your defence of Gordon's, Mr. Cooly -
'Lowly' was harsh, you're quite right. It IS a good Gin.
In England it is probably the best-selling and most commonly available Gin.
I've confused rarity with quality. The two are quite different.

Enjoy your Gordons with a clear conscience - You are amongst the majority of English Gin fans!

Re: Do you like Gin?

The Vodka Martini thing is all down to Ian Flemming in my book.

A classic is always a classic, do it 'with a twist' and you never get anything better.
The OCBD is a good example of this!
