Best RTW tailoring

Wanted a few calls on good quality RTW tailoring as I have put on a little bit of weight over the last year or so after a nasty sports injury and want to get back into shape before commissioning any new clothing with a tailor. I have read comments on the fact that some of their RTW has been better than bespoke seen on fora elsewhere, specifically on the bespoke disasters thread although i guess this is setting a rather low bar smile

any recommendations?

if it helps im in my mid 30s, work in the city of london, go out mainly in the w end of london, bars, good restaurants, catch a show from time to time .. looking for a classic look (have developed something of a deep resentment for anyone selling short jackets with a skinny lapel which seem to be in fashion at the moment) ..

thanks in advance.

mike.

I went through the same thing recently, but lost the weight, so my suggestion is to buy off some of the second-hand Ivy stores in the Talk Ivy section.  You won't be spending a lot of your hard earned, will be wearing classic, and you can flog it off in here at the end should you with to do so.

Re: Best RTW tailoring

We have just had our range of Corneliani suits and sports jackets in for A/W OldFruit. We are based 25mins outside of London (West) by train, we specialise in the larger block, which you don't find so often up town, so if you have been put off by the closeness of Italian tailoring before, no need to worry. Just PM on here if you are interested and I can send you photos of this seasons suits. Also we have in-house alteration tailoring, so we look to fit the RTW to you just how you prefer it. Sports jackets typically start at £750 and suits £1100.

Ps. Lapels are classically sized and jackets are a good length, typically to top of the thigh. No Italian bumfreezers!

Chester Barrie RTW, on Savile Row rather than the department store stuff, is an obvious option.

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.

Hello,
We have simply had our array of Corneliani fits and sports coats in for A/W OldFruit. You are based 25mins outside London (West) by train, we specialise within the larger block, which you don't find for this reason usually up town, therefore you will have been put off by the nearness of Italian tailoring before, no need to stress. Simply PM on right here should you decide are really curious and also I can send you pictures on this seasons suits. Even you have in-house alteration tailoring, therefore we design to put the RTW to you simply just how you favor it. Sports outdoor jackets usually get started on at just £750 as well as fits £1100. .

Re: Best RTW tailoring

May I ask, what was the nature of the injury? The same thing happened to me once---injured gained some weight, although I can lose weight quite quickly. I broke my wrists.

Re: Best RTW tailoring

CB make several different lines so its v confusing navigating their products, they make stuff under chester barrie name (higher quality) and also sell under chester by chester barrie (low quality fused stuff you find in austin reed / house of frasier etc) .. who on earth made up that brand name ? .. all v complex & i get the feeling after their restructure they are trying to find their niche by doing different things for different people.. unfortunately it makes discriminating their good and bad tailoring more difficult .. !
