Maybe Charvet customers can clarify, given the lower original cost/price of "vintage cloth," does Charvet lower the cost, accordingly, for a new shirt made with vintage cloth?
My father last had shirts made by Lanvin in the early 80's. his shirts produced in the 70's and ealy 80's are really the most beautiful shirts i have ever seen. fabric was from dupont in Lyon. that mill is long gone. button holes and buttons are sewn by hand. the damn shop ticket is embroidered by hand into the shirt. Other then that their is no visable hand work.
everythng about thie shirt is fantastic. I will have one at the CSE if anyone is interested in seeing what it looks like.
I have never seen shirts from MS som I can not compare them
I do not know what the current Lanvin shirts look like. so again I can not comment.

The only thing worse than not enough great choices may be too many great choices.
Smalto, Lanvin, Charvet, Arnys, etc.
Wow, so many shirtmakers, so little time.
Beware of ordering Charvet from one of the luxury US retailers (BG, Saks etc.). The shirt is a glorified RTW product - I spent $450 on mine (thankfully not cash but Amex points) and was very disappointed.
