I need some light cool west coast jazz to nurse my shitty head cold...nothing to brassy..Shorty Rogers just blew my head off... I need more in the vein of Stan Getz and East of the Sun...light, playful and comforting.. I probably looking in the direction of Hep but he is probably out on the cycle lanes of the Netherlands..for the next few hours, can anyone else help?
Bobby Timmons, ChunKing.
Listening to "Sincerely Diana".
Chet Baker - Halema
Kind of blue - Miles Davis
Jack McDuff - The Fourth Dimension
Jeremy Steig - Howling for Judy
I played Miles right after Chet last night. Okay, Chet was good but the genius of Miles blows him out of the water.

I've been spinning Grant Greens "Solid" album for a couple of days (the Blue Note The Definitive 45 RPM Reissue Series). Got it as a birthday gift, and I must say that it's pretty nice.
Those 45rpm Blue Note's are real works of art and will become highly sort after in the collectors market in the ensuing years. They've remastered them from the original tapes and included unpublished photos from the sessions and to top it all you have the double gatefold sleeves. Mega!
