Gotcha.

When the button stance is woeful and the seams on the back of your coat pull but your happy with it because its better than the last suit you had made. When the pitch is off but you excuse the tailor because doing the pitch is hard for a skilled tailor and overall the sleeves are ok. Maybe you should really think about writing about something else.

On the plus side he did get contrasting button hole stitching and a working cuff...but while theres at least interest theres always hope for better things to come.

A higher waisted trouser would give better balance to his leg/torso issue, as opposed to coat button stance causing a smaller "V". I think he is trying to convince himself, rather than the reader that he hasn't wasted $700 on rubbish. That lapel button hole may be pink but its not done very well. God knows what he has been wearing, all my RTW coats taper round the waist. Very odd write up.

So thats $2100 he's done on shite this year, might as well have purchased a Canali job and saved himself a load of time and hassle.  Ended up with something quite acceptable and maybe even have saved a couple of bucks.  Clearly he's just starting out and as soon as he gets into a good clothes shop and tries on something decent off the rack he'll realise he's been a mug. Lets hope that happens before he does too much more wedge on the likes of Johnny Three Fingers tailoring services.

All I need to see is "Spier & Mackay" and my head starts to hurt. I don't have any personal experience with them, but they and Kent Wang seem to be fetishized by a certain type of person that I just don't want anything to do with.
