You just miss the arguments don't you Sammy?
I really don't mind if you switch off. x
If people weren't strokers it'd take a few minutes.
I'm still here. Maybe in a self constricted form. I'm very happy with the new mods as I didn't want to moderate anymore.
In typical Jim style I'm claiming credit for provoking all the recent changes around here. Because I did.
A fun role now is in telling all the dirty secrets... All the fakery, all the reality of the Net in fact.
I've already mentioned my swapping of emails with Mr. Chensvold, but I did the same with Andy of AAAC and Mr. Kabbaz ... Same deal on SF when I was on there. It's all a fake - All the feuds that people might think exist. It's all nothing but showbiz.
The guys mentioned above all live and work in Conservative America and need to present themselves in a certain way. I don't. For me there's more in it for me taking the opposite route and so we all worked together in a strange way to further all of our best interests.
At the London Ivy meeting last week I was flashing around Ian Macleay's biography of Malcolm McLaren and calling it the bible of Talk Ivy to those who would get the joke.
The troll who was a mod was a great USP for FNB - A wonderfully audacious move by FNB himself, playing with the forum format. The current mood seems to be to create a really square forum without much creativity, madness or chaos. Fair enough.
Market segmentation was always one of my great beliefs - There was Mod, Trad, Collegiate (on Ivy Style) and Ivy on here. The current mood seems to be for homogeneity with boundaries blurred and meanings blurred. Fair enough.
The forum will carry on - Which I like - But the USP of the forum needs to be recreated now. Why is Talk Ivy anything special now ?
... There is also a creeping i-Gentism on The Wardrobe. Things are getting less different than they used to be.
The new Mods are great guys, but they are the enforcers of a rule book. It seems to be their nature - To do the job 'properly'. That will be what will change the nature of this forum most.
Best -
Just to echo Liam I am a talk ivy goer rather than a wardrobite.
My only visits there lately have been to zap spam but I know you lot discuss
Broader issues than TI.If the members would rather Jim take up the Mod seat
Then I will gladly step down (remember I didn’t ask for this gig).
With regards to Jim I am just following consensus but he is still a valued member of this place IMO.

He attracts too many trolls for my liking. Guys who sign up just to troll.
Gentleman Jones, Ricardo Ricardo, Ricky Rimmer.... I don't want to see those guys back!
Do you!?
Nobody is stopping the "Old Jim" from posting. All he has to do, perhaps with the help of the new mods, is to change his main account from Taylor McIntyre to Jimmy Frost Mellor.
I am opposed to him being given moderating powers again as he abused them. He also treated the rules of the forum with utter contempt. His PMs to some posters, notably Carpu, were appalling to say the least.
The forum is doing fine under the new regime. Old posters are coming back. We just have to post more interesting and amusing topics and comments.
Here you are Mr. Formby -
"I love all the pseudo socio/psycho stuff.
Clothes talk would be boring without it.
...I mean, how much mileage is there in the discussion of a soft shoulder?
...or does my arse look big in this.
...or what colours match.
Mind numbing."
Your words.
Love it , the clothes are being talked about on the main forums.
The bickering is here , it works.
