Nobs not Knobs

Very little from anyone about the Derby and Royal Ascot. Nothing at all from Bill B but then he seems to enjoy a quiet, cultured Frasier-Crane-type of lifestyle - and he is a yank, after all. Nothing either from Sly Crompton. If the reason is to appease his American readers and customers, who like to indulge their Fenian anti-British feeling (while aping British dress with a Flusser colour chart to hand), as well as the British rabble, then all power to his financial elbow. However, the real reason is almost certainly that Crompie wouldn´t know his way out of the racecourse car parks.

"O could I as Harlequin frisk,
And thou be my Columbine fair,
My wand should, with one magic whisk,
Transport us to Hanover Square."                       The Knut with a 'K'.

Re: Nobs not Knobs

I saw the Duke of Edinburgh coming out of the Derby to the car park one year. He was not with Her Madge. I saw McCririck another year with his poor missus.

Lots of old biddies waiting along Ashley Road for Her Madge to drive past this year.

"Florid, smug, middle-aged golf club bore in this country I'd say. Propping up the 19th hole in deepest Surrey bemoaning the perils of immigration."
